Dr. James has extensively researched and published on vicarious trauma and burnout in the legal field, advocating for trauma-informed legal practices. His PhD thesis was Marriage, "Marriage, Masculinity And Law in Australia - 1900 to 1999”, presented to the Department of History, The University of Western Australia.
